Perspectives

Due to the importance and frequency of accident of blood exposure and the potential infectious risk, and their clear under-reporting among health personnel (most commonly among nurses) at the emergency department, it is necessary and indispensable to set up a reporting circuit for these accidents. Reporting injuries and documenting all blood-borne exposures are essential for having the evidence to analyze for prevention.
