What is it about?

Carboxylic acids such as benzilic acid, phthalic acid and salicylic acid, used as efficient catalysts for the synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones, are structurally stable compounds. Synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy and their melting points are in good agreement with previous reports.
