Why is it important?
In our review you can find a current compilation of the latest patents and clinical trials on stem cell applications for the treatment of diseases. Stem cell therapy born as a promising strategy useful for genetic and degenerative diseases due to the ability of the cells to engraft and replace damaged cells or restore their lost functions, however the majority of these studies have been obtained in animal models, suggesting that stem cells research must go on prior to transfer therapeutics protocols to the human being although it has much to offer to improve life quality. Still more knowledge is needed about human diseases, human stem cells and the combined behaviour, prior to generate clinical stem cell human therapies that could be applied routinely
Perspectives
Stem cells are a powerful tool used in therapeutic and regenerative applications and research. Although there are a large amount of information about the use and applicability of stem cell therapies, more studies in human are needed to provide effective and safe mechanisms of diagnostics, therapeutics, and tissue regeneration. As researchers should be updated and learn about the latest developments in this field
