What is it about?
Aging alters the gene expression pattern in muscle stem cells thereby lowering their activity and the regenerative capacity of skeletal muscle. We investigated the effect of aging in a mouse model.

Why is it important?
Sarcopenia is the degenerative loss of skeletal muscle mass (0.5–1% loss per year after the age of 50), quality, and strength associated with aging. Better understanding the old-age muscle function decay could offer new therapeutic ways against sarcopenia.
