What is it about?

This work presents the efforts made towards the development of light weight high entropy alloys with density less than 3 g/cc. A number of equiatomic and non-equiatomic HEAs were processed in the present study. Microstructure evolution following the variation of alloying elements and alloy composition in the developed HEAs was studied. Compositions tested, processing challenges faced, microstructure observed and hardness realized are presented succinctly with the primary objective of dispersing the results and observations to a wider audience to trigger further advancement in development of these novel and innovative alloys.
