What is it about?

This publication deals with treatment modality for ETT encompassing semi-IPN matrix based short-fiber composite and semi-IPN matrix based FRC post, which was individually shaped according to the canal morphology.

Why is it important?

Short-fiber composite only or in combination with individually formed FRC post can provide ferrule-like effect in the cervical portion of ETT. The amount of material and placement of the individually formed FRC post out-of-the-neutral-axis reinforce this effect.

Perspectives

I personally think that ETT and teeth with substantial tooth loss could benefit from semi-IPN type of fiber-reinforcement (not thermoset as are the prefabricated FRC posts).
