What is it about?

The study discusses how the reaction parameters between lignin and NaOH can be evaluated using conventional methods; a rate law for this reaction was also determined using both methods "Ostwald method of Isolation and the Differential method".

Why is it important?

It brings to the reader, the possible way of estimating the reaction rate and chemistry which aren't easy to describe except by looking into the dissolution rate of lignin. It then tells how unique this study is. The plots made have clear evidences of how genuine the data generated are.

Perspectives

The work gives a direct application of the methods of investigating rates of reactions of substrates that appear unquantifyable from source hence, the adoption of rate of formation/lignin dissolution as a way of quantifying lignin.
