What is it about?
Although hydrogen sulfide is generally considered a foul smelling toxic gas, it has got developed as a third gasotransmitter after nitric oxide and carbon, and reported to modulate many signal transduction pathway. This article reviews many of its reported therapeutic applications and patents submitted/granted on it. Being a gas its in vivo administration is a challenge. Approaches to overcome its delivery challenges also have been discussed.
