What is it about?

Probiotics are microorganisms included in daily food, as fermented milk , yogurth , cheese. They are able to reinforce the host immunity and to prevent gut illness. Probiotics are also able to protect mucosal sites distant from the gut as bronchus and mammary gland .We demonstrated in different animals models, the efectivity of the oral administration of probiotics in inflammatory process like colon and breast cancer and to protect against infections

Why is it important?

The research has importance to demostrate the role of the nutrition on health.Nutrition have role on the improvement of the intestinal microbiota which participate in the maduration and activation of the gut immune system, that send signals to activate the systemic inmune response Probiotics are bacteria that influence the intestinal immunity without modify the intestinal homeostasis The role of these bacteria on the microbiota are currently in study by the important functions that have the microbiota in the physiology of the host

Perspectives

The article is important to demonstrate the effect of the comsumption of food containing probiotic bacteria ,by the property of these bacteria to act as adjuvant of the immune system ,as it was demontrated To have an oral adjuvant would be useful in risk groups as in malnutrition
