Why is it important?

Fron this study, it was found that this plant has a moderate potent antioxidant activity which may explain the scientific basis of the traditional uses of the plant. A detailed study of all aspects (chemical composition, phenolic contents, anti-oxidant and antibacterial activities) was made based on the combined approach of both exploitation and exploration, which may lead to a new line of treatment based on folklore herbal remedies. Thus, this study introduces the Dryopteris marginalis L. as a promising natural medicinal plant candidate.
