What is it about?

Traditional use of medicinal plants to cure diseases is very common in rural as well as urban areas of Kashmir. Owing to enhanced scientific knowledge and awareness, the new generation seemed reluctant to use the plant extracts as authentic data regarding the ailment potential was not available about diverse plants. In this paper, we have examined the trace metal content and antioxidant potential of frequently used plants of the targeted area.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that the analyzed medicinal plants possess good antioxidant potential and could be used as usual for the ailment of the diverse diseases. Trace metal data in this study reflects the naturally available mineral potential of the plats. The baseline data in this paper will prove beneficial for the young researchers in this specific field.

Perspectives

We think, this article will be a source of satisfaction for the users of the analyzed medicinal plants to cure diseases. Furthermore, the baseline data would be available for the development of new and economical drugs to save the health of humans and animals.
