What is it about?

Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAS) is a relatively new disease which is proven to be a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and a huge problem for public health. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus worldwide is rising and the last century marked a great progress in the field of diabetology. It also has shown the complex nature of the disorder and multiple traceable links with other diseases, one of which is OSAS.

Why is it important?

OSAS is a complicated chronic disease which may require several specialists to carefully monitor the patients condition throughout life. Several methods have shown to be useful and had positive influence on patients health. It was demonstrated that OSAS managment greatly improves the overall health of patients with diabetes.
