What is it about?

In this paper, the literature published during the last five years on the conjugate addition of nucleophiles (carbon, nitrogen , oxygen, sulfur) to unsaturated nitro compounds is reviewed. Chiral, enantiomerically pure substances were produced via organocatalysis. In several cases the new methods described were used to produce important synthetic intermediates or biologically active products.
