What is it about?
For many years, ginger has been consumed as a delicacy, medicine, or spice. Ginger has some properties against various disorders, including cancer. Cancer chemoprevention is defined as the use of natural or synthetic substances to prevent cancer initiation or progression. This review describes the cancer chemopreventive effects of [6]-gingerol, the major pungent component of ginger, and its impact on different steps of the disease.

Why is it important?
Cancer is the second leading cause of death and some cancer types have no specific medications. This work reviews some properties of gingerol as an anticancer agent.
Perspectives
I hope this paper can make people think about the use of ginger or other natural products, not as the main strategy, but as a complementary treatment to fighting cancer.
