In this project, we studied the impact of pH and ionic strength conditions on the thermal denaturation of carboxylesterase EstGtA2.

Why is it important?

Studying a protein denaturation process is of utmost importance in many fields, such as industrial applications. Enzyme denaturation is an expensive process for industries that needs further investigation in order to produce enzymes with better stability. As a first step, it is crucial to study protein denaturation against different conditions in order to establish which amono acids are responsible for stability of the protein. Our foundings pointed out 3 different pathways during thermal denaturation that seems to be modulated by histidine residues at the surface of EstGtA2.
