Why is it important?

The increase in occurrence of resistance to antibiotics has lead to researchers surch plants with potential antimicrobial activity to be the source of alternative treatments, with their extracts, EOs, isolated compounds, alone or in combined therapies. Many recent studies of genus Mentha, in form of essential oils and extracts, have aimed to show the therapeutic potential of various species found in many regions throughout the world.
