What is it about?
Air and rail travel differ greatly in the time passengers spend at the station and airport. These times are currently only incompletely included in the travel time calculation. The study examined real trips in order to determine real time values for the stay times. With these, travel information systems could provide fair travel time comparisons.

Why is it important?
Today's travel comparison tools do not make a fair comparison of train and air travel times. This distorts competition to the disadvantage of the railways.
