What is it about?
This article addresses the care of pregnant women in health crisis situations, using the example of the COVID-19 management in context of LIMICs. The results showed that the mortality of pregnant women was more impacted by complications of the third trimester of pregnancy than by COVID-19.

Why is it important?
This work draws the attention of public health emergency authorities to focus special attention to pregnant women when developing preparedness plans.
Perspectives
This article was limited to the acute phase of COVID-19. Further studies are needed to determine the direct and indirect impact as well as the long-term consequences of COVID-19 on pregnant women. I would be particularly interested in participating in multi-center studies on this topic with other authors from the African region for greater study power to come up with strong recommendations.
