What is it about?
Heat stress nephropathy is a condition where the kidneys get damaged due to being exposed to high temperatures for a long time. It mainly affects people who work in hot environments, like farmers, and those who live in hot rural areas without enough water and healthcare.

Why is it important?
We don't fully understand how it happens, but several things can contribute to kidney damage. These include not drinking enough water, the kidneys getting injured from repeated heat stress, harmful substances in the environment, and the body's response to stress and inflammation.
