Several trans-Chalcones have been obtained following an environmentally friendly methodology using Amberlyte IRA-410 and Amberlyte IRA-400 resins as heterogeneous and efficient catalysts. In this method, we report easily separable,eco-friendly and highly effective resin catalysts.

Why is it important?
In recent years, several research works have been particularly oriented towards the green routes for synthesizing chalcones. The use of green solvents or solvent free reactions under heterogeneous systems play an intrinsic role in greening fine and specialty chemical products. The ultrasonic irradiation affords additional enhancement effects in the presence of solid catalyts. In this respect, sonication exhibits beneficial effects on chemical reactivity, such as reducing the induction period, accelerating the reaction, and improving catalyst efficiency.
