What is it about?

It is about studies of Impurity profile of several drugs used in asthma. There are 3 types of impurities (organic, inorganic, residual solvents) other than drug substance. Identification of impurities is done by various instrumental methods like Chromatography (HPLC, HPTLC, GC), Spectroscopy (MS, NMR, FTIR, UV) & combination of both (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS). It is also included tables to show various toxicity studies of various impurities.

Why is it important?

It is important to characterize the impurities like LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS to know the exact mass of respective impurities & after that isolate that impurities from the mixture like by preparative HPLC, column chromatography, flash chromatography etc. Moreover toxicity studies of impurities is important to know the toxicity & harmful effect of impurities present in drug.

It is basically aware the people regarding drugs they taken contain impurities & some impurities is also toxic & produce several harmful effects.
