Why is it important?

Although risperidone is effective for the treatment of lethargy and inadequate speech, concerns about the association between weight gain, waist circumference and risperidone require a need for evaluation of the risk-benefit ratio in its use. There was a significant association between weight gain, waist circumference and risperidone.

The interdisciplinarity of the co-authors who organized this work was fundamental for a wide discussion on the results obtained and thus the learning was immense. With the prior publication by the publisher, many other researchers have already contacted us to obtain more data on this article.
