What is it about?

The paper reviews research that demonstrates that nicotine is addictive, but also looks at research findings that illustrate that there is more to smoking than a way to take in nicotine.

Why is it important?

Current efforts to continue to curve down smoking focus on reducing the amount of nicotine allowed in cigarettes. Whereas such efforts are on the right track, this literature review reminds us that there is more to smoking than nicotine intake.

Perspectives

Writing this article helped understand better how animal and human research complement each other in gaining greater insights into psychopharmacological phenomena.
