What is it about?
It is about isolation and identification of Acinetobacter radioresistens PR8 as extracellular lipase producing microorganism. Further, lipase purification and its characterization were done. The new cost effective in-gel lipase zymography method was developed.

Why is it important?
It is the first report on cold active alkaline lipase from Acinetobacter radioresistens PR8 which is proposed to be used in dairy industries for cheese ripening. This work gives the new protocol of cost effective lipase zymography.
