What is it about?
The UAE guidelines were based initially on the review of several regional and international guidelines including the consensus statement for the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the Pan Arab Osteoporosis Society (PAOS) guidelines for osteoporosis management, the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) European guidelines, the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) guidelines and the UK National Osteoporosis Guidance Group (NOGG).

The guidelines have categorized four specific steps for the diagnosis and management for osteoporosis in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under the headings: Step I. Screening Guidelines, Step II. Indications Guidelines, Step III. Assessment Guidelines and Step IV. Therapeutics Guidelines
Perspectives
The EOS guidelines are designed to be of practical value and user friendly. The guidelines are intended for all the healthcare professionals in the UAE involved with the management of osteoporosis and fragility fractures.
