One of the new areas in which the gut microbiome is of intense interest is its role in various neurological manifestations. In this mini-review, our aim is to highlight the latest research development on the connection between the gut microbiome and insomnia

Why is it important?

Our findings show that there are multilevel bidirectional pathways through which the gut microbiome can influence insomnia and cognitive function thus, gut microbiomes can be modulated to reduce the severity of insomnia and cure these psychophysiological conditions.

Perspectives

collaborated with some colleagues from my university to write this mini-review about the Microbiome-Gut-Brain Axis and sleep loss. We hope that our work proves helpful to others who are interested in knowing more about Gut microbiome.
