Why is it important?

Intimate partner violence is one of the most common forms of violence globally. It is a highly prevalent and under-recognized issue in India. However, identifying and measuring IPV is difficult since most people are not ready to talk about it. Besides, it is an experience that can obtrude mental and physical health issues in an individual. Additionally, in India, drastic socioeconomic changes exacerbated family conflicts and divorce rates. Hence, it is very important to understand the current IPV scenario in India. Thus, the current article will help us know the detailed narrative of IPV and a notion for developing intervention programs to teach healthy relationship skills to prevent or reduce IPV.
