What is it about?

Alzheimer's is a complex disease and we need better models with which to test drugs as potential curative agents for Alzheimer's. This study suggests a new model for trying to understand the contributions of brain inflammation to Alzheimer's.

Why is it important?

Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and there are no curative drugs available for Alzheimer's. One of the major stumbling blocks is the need for better models to test experimental drugs. This study suggests such a model.

Perspectives

The search for new drugs for Alzheimer's has been a personal goal for more than 30 years. We have been working on this problem, step by step. This study describes our efforts to improve models for evaluating experimental drugs.
