What is it about?

Urolithiasis is a prevalent condition with significant morbidity and economic implications. Recent studies on C. pepo seeds have shown therapeutic potential in reducing bladder stones and urodynamic illnesses, like kidney stones. In this research, we employed network pharmacology and molecular docking to examine the active compounds and biological mechanisms of Cucurbita pepo against kidney stones.

Why is it important?

This research sets out a clear scientific basis for determining the worth of multi-component, multi-target active constituents and finding more kidney stone therapeutic targets for its pharmacological cure. Our findings demonstrate that active constituent-target gene networks can show intimate connections between several compounds and multiple targets, thereby enhancing our knowledge of the possible impacts of C. pepo seeds on kidney stones.


I hope this method lays the foundation for future studies on the preventive mechanisms of Cucurbita pepo seeds against urolithiasis and the implications of network pharmacology in drug design.
