Why is it important?
A zero-dimensional biofilm model is presented and evaluated. This model overcomes a fundamental problem in biofilm modelling, i.e. model the complex biofilm structure.
Perspectives
I hope that the presented biofilm model will find its place in the engineering community. The applicability to other biofilm systems needs to be tested.
