What is it about?

This study is part of the treatment of water contaminated by pesticides using the advanced oxidation process (electro-Fenton). The experimental parameters of the electrochemical process have been optimized using the surface plan methodology. The biodegradability of the solutions as well as the organic matter were followed during this study.

Why is it important?

We study the electrochemical behavior of an insecticidal molecule, Abamectin in aqueous solution, the parameters differ from one molecule to another, for which we optimize the set of operating parameters for a maximum degradation rate And a short processing time. The refractory character has also been eliminated by improving the biodegradability of the solutions to allow for complementary biological treatment.

Perspectives

In this article the environmental aspect has been addressed, it is a question of fighting a pollution which becomes more and more diffuse with the development of the intensive agriculture and the very important use of phytosanitaire products. The most important in this study is the elimination of this toxic and refractory substance using a clean process that requires no chemical agent.
