What is it about?

The objective of the present study is to analyze the situation of the sources of all water sources in the regions studied. Field surveys were carried out at each of these oases to estimate the available water sources, to assess the state of surface water (watercourses, reservoirs, etc.), to estimate the groundwater status of these regions, to identify the cases of use of the ancient technologies of water abstraction, to put a current vision on the propagation of use of the modern techniques of irrigation in these three oases

Why is it important?

put a current vision on the propagation of use of the modern techniques of irrigation in these three oases. Finally, summarizing the results of these surveys has made it possible to propose technical solutions to protect these oases and develop their water management.

Perspectives

The results of our work could help water managers to design policies to improve the productivity of inputs and especially to promote sustainable management in these semi-arid regions to ensure the survival of all this region. An improvement in the technical situation of farmers would reduce the emigration of people and abandon farming to keep oasis farming and protect the traditional system
