What is it about?

Reverse osmosis is a leading process in desalination industry. However, fouling is still a major problem that reduces the membrane performance. The identification of the foulants help us to well understand the fouling mechanism, and therefore how to mitigate it. In this work, the membrane autopsy and the process diagnosis showed the origin of the foulants. It was related to the characteristics of the feed water and the rejected stream.
