Why is it important?

The findings of the study shows that there are many factors that influence water demand and as water demand changes water availability is affected. These factors include population growth, climate change and agricultural expansion. Some management interventions are then recommended and these includes construction of a reservoir in the watershed and the maintenance of minimum environmental flows in the rivers.

Perspectives

I hope this article will create awareness on watershed and water resource management issues and also help water resource planners to make informed decisions as they manage and plan for water resources. This in the long run improve the management of water which is a scarce and vital resource.
