What is it about?
In this work, we evaluated the ammonium adsorption properties of aerobic granular sludge in sequencing batch reactors. We found that the adsorption of ammonium in AGS was a thermal driving fast process with a high ammonium adsorption capacity. Several factors like pH and competitive cations could effect the adsorption process. The reversible and endothermic ammonium desorption process was also investigated.
