Removal of cefixime from aqueous solutions

What is it about?

In the present study, we have used a simple and cost effective removal technique by a commercially available Fe-Al-SiO2 containing complex material (hardened paste of Portland cement).The adsorbing performance of hardened paste of Portland cement (HPPC) and modified HPPC with perlite for removal of cefixime from aqueous solutions was investigated comparitively by using batch adsorption studies.

Why is it important?

The hardened paste of Portland cement as a adsorbent has main advantages such as high efficiency, simple separation of sludge, low-cost and abundant availability for removal of pollutants. Also generated sludge could be used into soil-cement bricks for civil construction ..
