Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) from Palm Oil Mill Effluents

What is it about?

Polyhydroxyalkanoate or PHA is a biodegradable plastic. This could be produced biologically using volatile fatty acids from palm oil mill effluents.

Why is it important?

Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is a waste from the mills. It could find a beneficial use to produce valuable products.
