Inhabitants of coastal area of bangladesh are willing to pay for good quality drinking water

What is it about?

Coastal area of Bangladesh has scarcity of drinking water. Available sources are neither good in quality nor sufficient in amount. There is demand for improved water. This study assessed how much people would like to pay for better water source of drinking water.

Why is it important?

This paper gives an idea of the demand for improved drinking water and its possible market value in the context of the study area. This information is valuable for establishing new water supply systems in that area. The results also indicate the factors that determine the willingness to pay.
