What is it about?

This is a study done to establish the type of leadership style that is most commonly found in government run hospitals in Nigeria and how this leadership style will be able to accommodate a new way of working in public hospitals to meet the modern day yearnings of hospital patients to be able to have access to their doctors in public hospitals beyond the official working hours.

Why is it important?

The introduction and implementation of new ways of working will make the hospital patients to seemingly appear to be in charge of the services they receive from health workers, but the type of leadership style present in these hospitals is crucial to the success of this.

Perspectives

I believe that the leadership styles in these public hospitals may not be totally compatible enough to stimulate the necessary changes needed to make the introduction and implementation of new ways of working in public hospitals to be successful, so there is a need of goal oriented training and re-training to ensure this.
