What is it about?

We obtained a combined Brucella recombinant protein consisting of immunodominant regions of two outer membrane proteins. It had a higher antigenicity than the single proteins, allowing the detection of more seropositive animals by enzyme immunoassay.

Why is it important?

Our results indicate a possibility of improving diagnostics of bovine brucellosis based on the use of multiprotein recombinant antigen.

Perspectives

Researches are underway in our laboratory to conduct a more objective evaluation of the diagnostic accuracy of the combined recombinant protein of Brucella by challenging laboratory animals.
