What is it about?

Computerized tomography of the abdomen can study the condition of the gallbladder to see if it has grown tumor inside, stones, and inflammation that causes bleeding inside the bladder. However, gallbladder image will not be clear enough for diagnosis if the contrast medium previously used for other reason a few days ago causes opacification obscuring the image. This study was to examine which clinical conditions that would contribute to the so-called delayed gallbladder opacification.

Why is it important?

The importance of the study is that when the delayed gallbladder opacification is discovered by a radiologist, she/he can make a suggestion to clinical colleagues to help pinpoint the cause and manage the patient's condition better with confidence.
