Why is it important?
There are no comprehensive reviews addressing the importance of matrix metalloproteinases in pancreatitis. Thus the present review aimed to put a comprehensive list of all the MMP's and their role in acute and chronic pancreatitis.
Perspectives
Writing this article has given me the opportunity to understand the importance of balance of the secretion of MMP's under various physiological conditions, especially pancreatitis
