What is it about?

Pomegranate extract and its individual polyphenols reveal anticancer effects. In this paper we hypothesized that encapsulation of Pomegranate extract in solid lipid nanoparticles would improve their anticancer activity. Therefore, we applied Box Benhken design to optimize solid lipid nanoparticles loaded with pomegranate extract formula and then evaluated in vitro its anticancer activity against different cancer cell lines.

Why is it important?

Our finding proved that nanoencapsulation of pomegranate extract enhanced its anticancer efficacy. Therefore, our results suggested that a pomegranate extract loaded solid lipid nanoparticles optimized-formula could be a promising chemotherapeutic agent.

Perspectives

Working on this article was a great pleasure and I hope that it aids in the research of treatment of cancer using natural compounds instead of chemotherapy.
