What is it about?

High blood pressure is common and increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, and death. Effective treatment can reduce these risks. There are some potential advantages to matching the treatment to the individual patient. In addition, there are uncertainties and costs associated with attempts to do so. This article summarizes some of the attempts to personalize the treatment of high blood pressure, the limitations of these approaches, and new approaches that might be helpful.
