Hand-held device with the airflow measure by ratio FEV1/FEV6 are easy to use in outpatient setting to check patients air flow status with added questionnaire in detecting early stage of air way obstruction especially in smoking population.

Why is it important?
Our findings suggest that a quite number of under diagnose smoker with air flow limitation but never diagnosed before or being advice to quit smoking by health care professional.
Perspectives
Pharmacy health screening is crucial as a part of health care system in helping to detect early stage of disease. However, lung screening mostly not perform in community pharmacy or even in hospital pharmacy in Malaysia. This study is to provide some insight to promote pharmacist to incorporate lung screening in the routine activity especially toward the target group of smoker and together with smoking cessation advice.
