What is it about?
Spondias mombin is a medicinal plant that has been used in the Nigeria traditional medical practice as memory enhancer. We have shown that the memory enhancing effect can be linked to the ability of extracts, fractions and isolated compounds from the plant to inhibit cholinesterase enzyme.

Our findings shows that the plant contains inhibitors of cholinesterase enzyme which could be lead compounds in the development of drugs for clinical use.
