issues about sexuality are gaining ground among students and it is important to find out held perceptions, beliefs, attitudes that may arise due to homophobia

To deal with a phenomenon, one needs to understand it from a cultural context. Sexual orientation is still an emerging issue in Africa and since the world is a global village, it was important to find out the perception, belief and attitudes that Kenyan students have about it given that they are the most vulnerable.
