Why is it important?
DM and hypertension are common in HIV-infected patients receiving HAART, accounting 7.1% and 12.7%, respectively. They were associated to the well known risk factors.
Perspectives
This study is important in a way that it explores the magnitude of DM and hypertension among HIV positive patients receiving HAART in the context of developing countries, where there is limited study on the problem.
