Why is it important?

It would help the physicians to be vigilant towards the presentation of mental disorders in chronic heart patients while prescribing metoprolol.

Perspectives

There has been no evidence on the impact of metoprolol treatment on mental status in heart failure patients with clinically diagnosed depression or anxiety disorder. Additionally, to the best of our knowledge, this may be the first study to investigate the impact of metoprolol treatment on burnout status in CHF patients.
