What is it about?

The growth in dermal fillers use in recent years has also resulted in increase in filler related complications due mainly to inadequate product and injector control. The 10-point plan has been developed by the authors to reduce the complications through careful pre-consideration of causative factors which have been categorised as patient, product, and procedure related.

Why is it important?

Our findings and recommendations have been summarised in the table, with 10 schematic aspects, as an easy and useful reference guide for minimising complications amongst both inexperienced and experienced injectors.

Perspectives

It is my hope that this article will bring added patient safety in the field of aesthetic medicine. Collaborating with highly respected co-authors has been an enormous privilege.
